2. Subject: visible, valid, typos?
3. (Reply-To: check name & address)
4. Body: impersonal/personal, valid, typos?
5. check links

Causes of compromised email addresses

1. Your friend's account hacked
2. Your address ‘harvested' from friend’s compromised
   computer
3. Your address sold/hacked from a commercial server

Avoid getting your email address on group ‘To:’ lists

(Advise senders to use ‘Bcc’ box for group mailings)
